I passionately believe that the old saying – everyone has a book inside them – is true...

World War 2 historical fiction with a setting in Southwest Africa in 1932, the emerging Nazi party - perennially short of money in the aftermath of the Great Depression - came into funds that paid for much of the Nazi's militarisation and the evil that ensued in the Second World War. How all the funds were raised is still not clear, but this fictionalised account explores one of the options then available to the Nazis - the many kilogrammes of diamonds that had been secreted away by sympathisers around the port of Lüdertiz in Südwestafrika before they were deported back to Germany by the Union of South Africa after the First World War, then known as the Great War

While this fictional account makes no attempt to moralise or comment, it is the author's hope that readers will note the same socio-economic factors that allowed Hitler's monstrous regime to flourish and eventually spark the Second World War in 1939 in his quest to establish a Third Reich, are again prevalent in this day and age. Jobless and hungry people around the world are again distrusting all forms of authority, roaming the modern version of Munich's beer halls - the echo chambers of social media in their search for leaders to follow and scapegoats to blame

Unless we want to repeat history, humanity needs to come up with new ways to share and not hoard; to collaborate and not compete. It is the author's hope that his tale will inspire us towards such a novel way of living.
