I passionately believe that the old saying – everyone has a book inside them – is true...

Mario is unplanned. Born well after his siblings and with his mother’s career flourishing he feels second best. He doesn’t understand the warmth of affection. His world is filled with loneliness, and the concept of love remains foreign to him. Anger builds but Mario learns to suppress it, to push it down deep into his own emotional Pandora’s box.
At high school, staying with his grandmother, he finds affection in one of his school mates, Lindy. She captivates his heart, offering him a glimpse of something he’s never known. For the first time, he feels affection, cherished, and hopeful. Young love is tested when the two leave high school for university in different cities. Mario is about to dip into his Pandora’s box.

This book is one of the most helpful books I've read on emotional and physical abuse in a relationship.
The author shares deep insights through a very relatable and human story without ever becoming clinical or detached. It is written with empathy and real life scenarios and at times it felt like the author was speaking directly to me. It helped me feel understood and gave me a better way to make sense of my own abuse
Highly recommend it for support, insight and healing. I sincerely hope this author writes more of these kind of books
